Tvingsberg Bagfyr Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Tvingsberg Bagfyr Lighthouse
Tvingsberg Bagfyr is a square tapered wood tower built in 1900, standing 10 meters tall. It is painted with red and white horizontal bands. The structure is located in a forest near Sandager, 2.2 kilometers northeast of its front light, guiding northbound vessels. Although it has been inactive since 2016, recent photographs show it repainted and in good condition. The site is accessible to the public, but the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse was built to establish a guiding range for northbound vessels navigating the local shipping lanes.
