About Agersø Flak Lighthouse
Agersø Flak lighthouse, operational since 1977, features a red, cylindrical tower 10 meters in height. A round lantern and gallery are fitted atop a tall mast. The light produces a white flash every 10 seconds, offering a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. Located east of the Storebælt channel, it is about 5 kilometers west of Agersø island and the same distance northwest of Omø. Access is by boat only, with the site open to the public but the tower closed. Omø serves as the nearest port, 2.7 kilometers distant.
Why it matters: This navigation aid warns vessels of the Agersø Flak shoal within the busy Storebælt channel.
