How to track a container
- Enter the container number: four letters followed by seven digits, such as MSCU1234567.
- Sign in and choose a credit pack if you do not have credits available.
- Select Track to request the shipment details. One lookup uses one credit.
Understand your shipment details
Your results can include the port of loading, port of discharge, carrier, vessel, voyage and a timeline of shipment events. Dates are displayed in UTC, and events appear with the latest date first. Available fields depend on the tracking response; a port milestone does not represent the live position of the vessel.

What do I need to track a shipping container?
You need the container number, a signed-in MarineRadar account and at least one credit. Enter the number in the search field and select Track.
How much does container tracking cost?
Each container lookup uses one credit. The purchase buttons show the current credit-pack price. You can compare larger packs before purchasing.
What does the container tracking timeline show?
The timeline shows events returned for the shipment, such as departure, arrival or a full container entering a terminal. Events may include dates, ports, vessels and voyage numbers. An event listed in the timeline is not necessarily a completed event.
Does container tracking show a live GPS location?
This tool displays shipment events and port information. It does not show a live GPS location for the container. Use vessel tracking separately to explore available vessel positions.
What if no shipment information is returned?
Check the container number for typing errors. Tracking information may be unavailable for a shipment. Check your credit balance before submitting another paid lookup.
