What is MarineRadar
MarineRadaris a real-time vessel tracking and maritime intelligence app that lets you monitor ships worldwide using live AIS (Automatic Identification System) data. Whether you're a shipping professional tracking a cargo shipment, a port agent monitoring vessel arrivals and departures, or a maritime enthusiast watching ships pass through major waterways, MarineRadar puts comprehensive maritime data in your pocket.
The app covers 112,000+ vessels across all major vessel types — cargo ships, tankers, passenger ferries, fishing boats, tugs, high-speed craft, yachts, and military vessels — along with 7,900+ ports identified by UN/LOCODE and 7,300+ lighthouses with official flash characteristics from national hydrographic offices. All data is freely accessible with no account required.
App Features
Live Vessel Map
Track 112,000+ ships in real time on an interactive map. View vessel names, MMSI numbers, course, speed, heading, and destination — updated continuously via AIS. Pinch to zoom from global overview down to individual berths in a port. Color-coded vessel icons distinguish ship types at a glance.
Vessel Details
Tap any ship to see its full profile: IMO number, vessel type, flag state, draught, dimensions, and nearby traffic. Filter vessels by type — cargo, tanker, passenger, fishing, and more. Each vessel page includes current weather conditions at the ship's position and voyage progress between departure and destination ports.
Port Explorer
Browse 7,900+ ports worldwide with UN/LOCODE identifiers, coordinates, draft limits, and maximum vessel size restrictions. See which vessels are currently near any port. Each port page shows harbor type, time zone, and links to nearby navigation aids and lighthouses within 50 nautical miles.
Lighthouse Database
Explore 7,300+ lighthouses with flash characteristics (type, color, interval), light range in nautical miles, focal height above sea level, and operational status. Data follows IALA notation standards used on official nautical charts, sourced from UKHO and NGA Lists of Lights.
Nearby Vessels
Find ships near any location — your current GPS position, a specific port, or a lighthouse. See real-time vessel traffic density around any point on the map. Useful for port agents monitoring arrivals, coastal residents watching passing traffic, or anyone curious about maritime activity in their area.
Free to Use
MarineRadar is free on iOS and Android with no account required. Core vessel tracking, port data, and lighthouse information are available at no cost. The app is designed to provide professional-grade maritime intelligence that was previously only available through expensive commercial platforms.
