Two things to get right
Trends figures measure what people are watching — search and page-open interest across our apps — not ship movements or AIS positions. And they are relative scores from 0 to 100, never counts of people, so quote the direction and the ranking rather than treating the score as a measured quantity.
How Trends works sets out the method, the thresholds, and what this data cannot tell you. Corrections logs every figure we have changed after publication. If you need something beyond editorial use — bulk data, a custom cut, or a licence — email us and we will sort it out.
