This cylindrical cast iron tower, standing 8.5 meters tall and painted red, was situated at the end of Tomis harbor's southeast breakwater. Supported by five iron posts, it featured a lantern and gallery. The light emitted a red flash every three seconds, visible for 10.4 nautical miles. The original structure has been replaced by a light on a red mast. The site is open to visitors, offering views of the harbor, but the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This light served to warn vessels of the physical end of the southeast breakwater, ensuring safe entry into Tomis harbor.
