The structure is an unpainted, square, hourglass-shaped masonry tower, 18 meters in height, topped with a lantern and gallery. Its focal plane is 24 meters above the sea, providing a geographic range of 14.1 nautical miles. It stands at the end of the East (Outer) Breakwater, approximately 3.5 kilometers from the main port facilities. The light remains operational, serving as a navigational aid at the harbor entrance.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is indispensable for the safe navigation of ships into and out of Constanța, Romania's largest port on the Black Sea, by delineating the outer extremity of the breakwater.
