About Soline Lighthouse
Also known as: Soline (Rt Glavati)
The Soline Lighthouse is a white stone, cylindrical tower that stands 6 meters tall, with its light positioned 9 meters above sea level. Established in 1902, it emits a red flash every 5 seconds, visible for 10 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated on the northeast side of Otok Krk, marking the south side of the narrow entrance to Soline Bay, approximately 3 km east-northeast of the town of Soline. The structure is an octagonal stone tower with a gallery. While the site is open to the public, the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is essential for guiding vessels safely into the Bay of Soline, a sheltered area on Otok Krk, by marking the bay's narrow entrance.
