Mali Barjak Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Mali Barjak Lighthouse
The Mali Barjak Lighthouse stands on a rocky islet of the same name, situated off the northwestern coast of Otok Vis in Croatia. This cylindrical stone tower, which is unpainted, rises 8 meters high. Its light, positioned at a focal height of 13 meters, emits a white flash every 3 seconds. The current lighthouse replaced an earlier navigational aid that was housed on a skeletal tower. Access to the islet is possible by boat, but the tower itself remains closed to visitors.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is essential for guiding vessels around Otok Vis, specifically marking the Mali Barjak islet, a hazard located off the island's northwestern edge.
