About Mommark Havn Lighthouse
Also known as: Mommark Havn (Ostmole)
This conical concrete tower, built in 1904, stands white at the end of the east mole at Mommark. Standing 7 meters tall with a focal height of 9 meters, it has a geographic range of 10 nautical miles. The tower features a gallery, and its original lantern has been removed. Although its original red light characteristic of a flash every 3 seconds has been superseded by modern aids, the structure has been refurbished and repainted. It remains a visible marker at the entrance to Mommark Havn.
Why it matters: The tower's concrete construction from the early 20th century offers an architectural view of maritime infrastructure from that period, and its recent refurbishment highlights its lasting cultural significance.
