About Šibenik-Knin County Lighthouses Lighthouse
This octagonal stone lighthouse was built in 1873 on Hrid Mulo, a small island located about 5 kilometers southwest of Rogoznica in the Adriatic Sea. The 18-meter tower, which has a focal height of 23 meters, features a stone construction and an attached two-story keeper's house. It emits a white flash every 5 seconds and has a geographic range of 13.8 nautical miles. The original lantern has been replaced with a modern open design to ensure continued navigational efficacy. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides ships around a significant bulge in the mainland coastline, marking a hazard for maritime traffic.
