About Assens Havn Lighthouse
Built in 1901, the Assens Havn lighthouse is a 7-meter-tall cylindrical tower constructed from cast iron. It is painted white with a narrow red band located directly beneath the lantern room. This structure served to guide vessels into the harbor of Assens, a port on the island of Funen. While its active service has ended, the lighthouse remains a part of the waterfront.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is significant for its connection to the maritime history of Assens Harbor and its cast iron construction, which was typical for smaller harbor lights of its time.
