The Pelegrin Lighthouse began operation in 1909 on Otočić Gališnik, a small island south of Hvar town's harbor. The current structure is an octagonal white stone tower, 8.5 meters tall, built on a masonry base. Its light is positioned 21 meters above sea level and emits three white flashes every 10 seconds. This light provides a geographic range of 13.4 nautical miles. The station replaced an earlier red conical tower that marked Rt Pelegrin to the west.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks Otočić Gališnik, an island south of Hvar town's harbor entrance, serving as a key navigational reference for vessels entering the port.
