A South Korean ship cleared the Strait of Hormuz on or around July 10. Six Korean sailors were on board. The ship had been stuck in the Persian Gulf since late February, when Iran closed the waterway following US and Israeli strikes.
Two Korean-linked ships remain in the gulf. One, the HMM Namu, was struck by missiles earlier in the crisis and awaits repairs at a Dubai port before it can leave.
The ship was among 26 South Korean-operated ships trapped behind the strait for months. South Korean reports identified it as the GLOVIS CHALLENGE.
