A Russian drone struck the civilian tugboat TEDY in the Odesa region on 10 September, killing two crew members and injuring four more. All ten people aboard were Azerbaijani citizens.
Two crew members were killed. Two others were taken to hospital in Chornomorsk with injuries. The remaining six received care on site and did not need hospitalisation, according to Ukrinform and 112.ua.
Russia's Defence Ministry said it had struck two dry cargo vessels and a tugboat in the area, claiming they were carrying supplies for the Ukrainian armed forces. Ukraine did not confirm that framing.
The TEDY attack is part of a broader pattern of Russian strikes on civilian shipping near Ukrainian Black Sea ports. Earlier this year, multiple foreign-flagged vessels were hit or damaged in the Odesa region.
