A motor yacht caught fire on August 24, 2026 off Čiovo island near the town of Trogir on Croatia's Dalmatian coast. The alarm was raised at 11:45 am, with the fire breaking out while the yacht lay anchored in Fumija Bay near the islet of Kraljevac.

All six people aboard were taken off safely. No one was injured.

Crew and firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze, but could not stop it. By 3:47 pm, the burning yacht had gone under in the waters of the Trogir Channel, according to Croatian authorities cited by Tportal. It came to rest at a depth of more than 31 metres.

Authorities confirmed no sea or marine environment pollution was observed at the accident site. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
