Veidnes Lighthouse

Also known as: Veidnes (Veidnesodden)

First lit in 1905, the Veidnes Lighthouse is situated on a sharp peninsula northeast of Kongsfjord, Norway. The current structure is a 4-meter tall cylindrical fiberglass tower, painted white with a red roof, housing a lantern and gallery. Its focal height reaches 19 meters above sea level. The lighthouse emits an occulting white, red, or green light, cycling every 6 seconds, with a geographic range of 12.9 nautical miles. The original cast iron lantern was replaced around 2005 with the current fiberglass tower. The station is located near Berlevåg and its nearest port, Kongsfjord, is 2.3 kilometers away.
