Location & Light Range
About Vassøyna Lighthouse
The Vassøyna lighthouse is a 5-meter cylindrical fiberglass tower located on the southwestern tip of the island. Its focal height is 13 meters above sea level. The light displays a white, red, or green sector light with a 4-second cycle, guiding vessels around the island's contours. This modern structure replaced an earlier skeletal tower. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed to visitors.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for navigating the waters around the island's southwestern tip, providing sector lights that clearly delineate safe channels from hazards.
