U.S. Lightship 76 (WAL-504) Relief Lighthouse

Built in 1904, Lightship 76 (WAL-504) Relief is a steel vessel that served as a mobile navigational aid. Originally featuring two masts, its design was later modified to improve its functionality. As a relief ship, it did not maintain a permanent station but instead moved to cover other lightships that were undergoing repairs or maintenance. This adaptability allowed it to provide continuous guidance in various locations where fixed structures were not feasible. It was stationed near Mission, British Columbia, approximately 4 kilometers from the nearest port.
