About Amphitrite Point Lighthouse
The Amphitrite Point Lighthouse was built in 1915, replacing an earlier structure that was destroyed by a tsunami in January 1914. The current lighthouse, a 6-meter white building topped with a red lantern, stands 15 meters above sea level. It emits a white flash every 12 seconds, visible for 11.9 nautical miles. The lighthouse complex is located at the northern entrance to Barkley Sound, near Ucluelet, British Columbia. While the tower is not open to visitors, the site is accessible, and the keeper's house was renovated in 2020 for community use.
