Titran Lighthouse

Fl White 15s🇳🇴Frøya, NOOperational

Established in 1900, the Titran Lighthouse is a 45-meter cylindrical concrete and cast iron tower situated on the south side of Sandholmen island. This island marks the entrance to Titran, at the western tip of Frøya. The structure features a round cast iron tower with a lantern and gallery, mounted on a concrete base, and is attached to a two-story keeper's house. It emitted a white light, showing a single flash every 15 seconds. In 2023, the active light source was moved to an offshore post. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed.

Why it matters: The lighthouse historically defined the entrance to the fishing community of Titran and marked the westernmost point of Frøya island.
