About The Graves Lighthouse

The Graves lighthouse was built in 1903 and first lit that same year. It features a round, granite tower that stands 34 meters tall. The tower's exterior is designed as a waveswept structure, and its color is natural granite. The light emits two white flashes every 12 seconds, with a focal height of 30 meters. A foghorn is also part of the station, sounding two blasts every 20 seconds. The original Fresnel lens from the lighthouse is reportedly stored at the Smithsonian Institution.
