A square skeletal tower stands 8 meters tall on the southwestern coast of Unimak Island. Originally lit in 1903, the light's focal plane is 33.5 meters above sea level. The current steel structure, featuring an open lantern and gallery, replaced an earlier light destroyed by a tsunami in 1946. That event tragically claimed the lives of five crew members. The light emits a single white flash every 6 seconds and has a geographic range of 15.9 nautical miles. This station marks the southern entrance to Unimak Pass, a key route between the Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea.
