About Sylvan Lake Lighthouse
An octagonal wood tower standing 15 meters tall, this lighthouse was constructed in 2016. It features a white finish with a red lantern and is situated on the Sylvan Lake waterfront, east of the marina. The project was coordinated by the Sylvan Lake Lighthouse Project, with the construction contract awarded in September 2015 and the structure inaugurated in July 2016. The lighthouse emits a white light and its site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This modern lighthouse serves as a community landmark and a symbol of local pride, inaugurated on Canada Day 2016. It is a distinctive feature for Rotary Lighthouse Park and draws visitors to the Sylvan Lake waterfront.
