About Sultindvikneset Lighthouse
This metal square tower, standing 6 meters tall, was established in 2018 on the west side of the Malangenfjord at the Målselva river's entrance. Its structure includes a lantern and gallery, with the focal height at 7.5 meters. The tower displays white with black horizontal bands and a red roof. It emits an occulting white light every 6 seconds, visible for 9.5 nautical miles. This modern light replaced an earlier structure at the same location.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides local fishing vessels and maritime traffic navigating the Malangenfjord, especially near the entrance to the Målselva river, providing precise directional guidance.
