About Stonington Harbor Lighthouse
Construction of the Stonington Harbor Light was completed in 1823. The stone tower stands 11 meters tall, with its light positioned 10.5 meters above sea level. This lighthouse served Stonington Harbor from its first lighting in 1823 until it was deactivated in 1889. It is recognized as a well-preserved example of a mid-19th century stone lighthouse.

Background
