A 30-meter steel skeletal tower, built in 1935, stands as the St. Clair Flats Canal Range Rear light. The structure is square and cylindrical with a flared top, its upper two-fifths covered by white steel panels. It emits a green light with a single flash characteristic every 6 seconds. The tower has a focal height of 34 meters and a geographic range of 16 nautical miles. This light is located north of South Channel Drive, approximately 1220 meters northeast of the front light, and serves as part of the entrance range for the St. Clair Flats channel. The original station was established in 1871.
