The Sæleneset lighthouse is a 12-meter square skeletal tower with an enclosed upper section topped by a red lantern roof. Its focal height is also 12 meters. The light emits a white, red, or green sector light that flashes on for three seconds and then off for three seconds on a 6-second cycle. Located on the north side of the Sognefjord, approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Balestrand, it is visible from Highway 55. The nearest port is Ortnevik, 7 kilometers away. The lighthouse has a geographic range of 11 nautical miles.
