This lighthouse stands on the southwest end of Seoneobdo, an island located about 5 km northwest of Bogildo in South Korea. The structure is a 11-meter tall, cylindrical white concrete tower. Its light emits a white flash every 4 seconds, visible for nearly 19 nautical miles. The focal height of the light is 51 meters above sea level. This navigational aid assists vessels traversing the waters of the South Jeolla region.
Why it matters: The light helps prevent groundings on the island's southwest end and assists local fishing boats and other maritime traffic in safely navigating this section of the Korean coast.
