Seingen Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Seingen Lighthouse
A cylindrical fiberglass tower standing 8 meters tall was built in 2023 to mark the north side of the upper Vestfjord. This modern structure replaced an earlier lantern that was mounted on a pile-supported platform. The lighthouse displays an occulting white, red, or green light, with a cycle of 4 seconds, visible for 10.2 nautical miles. It is situated on a skerry near Lødingen in the Nordland region. The site is accessible by boat, though the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: The Seingen lighthouse provides essential directional guidance for vessels navigating the complex waterways of the upper Vestfjord, helping them avoid shoals and find safe passage.
