Røsøyskjær is situated on a submerged rock near Bodø. The existing tower is a 7-meter square structure, painted white with a red roof, reaching a focal height of 10 meters. It shows a quick flashing yellow light (Q Y) with a geographic range of 5 nautical miles, marking the north side of the southern approach to Bodø harbor. The current lantern and gallery, supported by tripod piles, superseded an earlier marker. This update was done to provide updated navigation.
Why it matters: This marker aids navigation for vessels entering Bodø harbor from the south, indicating the safe channel past the skerry.
