Ristodden Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Ristodden Lighthouse
This octagonal fiberglass tower stands 10 meters tall on a platform supported by piles. Located on the west side of the channel off the northeastern end of Haøya, it replaces an earlier concrete lighthouse. The light emits two white flashes on an 8-second cycle, with red and green sectors indicating different approach directions. Its focal height reaches 9.5 meters, providing a geographic range of 10.2 nautical miles. The site is accessible to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's directional light system offers precise guidance through the channel off Haøya, helping mariners avoid hazards and delineate safe passages.
