Built in 1896, the Rinkenæs Forfyr is a cylindrical cast iron tower standing 8.5 meters tall, with its lantern reaching a focal height of 10 meters. The tower is painted white and features a single red horizontal band. It is situated approximately 1.2 kilometers southeast of Rinkenæs, between Dalsgård and Sandager. The light emits a white or green signal, with a characteristic of one white or green flash every 2 seconds. Its geographic range extends to 10.4 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This light guides westbound ships making their turn around the Schausende peninsula on the German side, marking a critical point for safe passage.
