It is situated 600 meters south of Lake Winnipeg's shore, guiding vessels navigating the delta. The structure features a white daymark with an orange vertical stripe and is mounted on a pile-supported platform. Its light exhibits a single white flash every 4 seconds, providing a geographic range of 12.4 nautical miles. The original lighthouse was demolished in 1992, and the range system it served was discontinued in 2019, though the light continues to operate under a new designation. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself remains closed.
