About Pubnico Harbour Lighthouse
Also known as: Pubnico Harbour (East Pubnico)
The Pubnico Harbour lighthouse is a 11-meter fiberglass tower situated on Beach Point, a sandspit forming the east side of Pubnico Harbour. Originally established in 1854, the current structure was built in 1984, featuring a lantern and gallery. Its lower half is painted white, while the upper half and lantern are red. This light emits a single red flash every 3 seconds. The station was inactive between 2000 and 2005 before being reactivated. The site is open to the public, but the tower is closed.
Why it matters: This light's consistent red flash every 3 seconds marks Beach Point, aiding local mariners and fishing boats in safely entering Pubnico Harbour.
