Its design includes an enclosed upper portion and a daymark featuring a white color with a single red vertical stripe. Located at the northern end of Fox Island, this structure served as the rear range light for the approach to Miramichi Bay. It was situated on one of the barrier islands that enclose the bay, about 18.3 kilometers from Chatham. The light had a geographic range of 5 nautical miles. By 2019, the tower was removed.
