About Pointe Duthie Lighthouse
Also known as: Pointe Duthie (reconstructed)
Constructed in 1903, this square pyramidal wooden tower stands 10 meters tall and is painted white with red trim. Its active service was short, ceasing by 1914. In 1918, the lighthouse was relocated in two sections to a nearby farm. The upper portion was later destroyed by fire, and the lower section was used for storage. In 1989, the Gaspésian British Heritage Centre acquired the remaining parts and reconstructed the tower. Following the center's closure in 2017, the town of New Richmond took ownership. The lighthouse underwent restoration in 2019 or 2020 and is now part of a historical park.
