About Pennant Harbour Lighthouse
Also known as: #Pennant Harbour (Pennant Point)
A cylindrical, white fiberglass tower measuring 8 meters in height was constructed in 1991 at Pennant Harbour, near West Pennant, Nova Scotia. This marked the replacement for an earlier light station that began service in 1903. The facility ceased operations in 2016 and was subsequently dismantled. While the location is accessible to visitors, access to the former tower structure is restricted.
Why it matters: This former navigation aid marked the entrance to Pennant Harbour, benefiting local fishing vessels and other maritime traffic.
