The Otervær lighthouse is located on a small rocky islet within an island cluster approximately 2.5 kilometers northeast of Lovund in the Nordland region of Norway. Built of stone, the structure reaches 7.5 meters in height and is topped by a white lantern and gallery with a red roof. Its light displays a fixed white, red, or green signal with an occulting characteristic every 6 seconds, varying with direction. The location can be reached by boat, and while the grounds are open, the tower is not accessible to the public. It is listed under NGA number 10160 and Admiralty number L2344.
Why it matters: This marker provides navigation assistance for ships approaching the harbour from the northeast, helping them avoid submerged hazards in the archipelago.
