This cylindrical lighthouse stands 6 meters tall on a platform supported by piles just off Shorts Point at Fintry, on the west side of Okanagan Lake. Its exterior is painted white with a green band encircling the top. A single green light flashes every 4 seconds, visible for 8.9 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated in the West Central Okanagan Electoral Area of British Columbia. The site is open to the public, though access to the tower itself is restricted.
Why it matters: The lighthouse helps guide vessels around Shorts Point on the 135-kilometer-long Okanagan Lake, a significant waterway in the Rocky Mountains.
