The former Oedaldo lighthouse was an octagonal cylindrical tower standing 8.5 meters tall. It was located near the western tip of Oedalto, a short distance east of the new light. Access to the structure was exclusively by boat, suggesting a remote location. This lighthouse served its navigational purpose until it was replaced in 2014. Visual records from 2011 show its form. The lighthouse was an operational aid in the South Jeolla region, serving the waters near Mokpo-si.
