Ny-Hellesund Lighthouse

This cylindrical cast iron lighthouse stands 5 meters tall with its light 7 meters above sea level. Painted white with a red roof, it emits an occulting white, red, or green light on a 6-second cycle, depending on the direction. The lighthouse is situated on a skerry off the east coast of Kapelløy, south of Monsøy, near Kristiansand. This area features a complex network of islands and narrow passages. Although the tower is closed to the public, the site is accessible, and a previous navigational aid was documented in 2007.
