The lighthouse was situated about 1.5 kilometers southwest of Fagerstrand, marking the eastern side of the Oslofjord near the Nesodden peninsula's tip. Its operational life concluded in 2008 when the structure was demolished. Modern offshore lights subsequently took over its navigational duties.
