The Margaretsville Lighthouse was built in 1859 and first lit the same year. This square pyramidal wood tower stands 7 meters tall and is painted white with a black horizontal band. Its light emits two white flashes every 17 seconds, visible for 10 nautical miles. The structure has been altered over the years, most recently repainted by volunteers in 2015. The Friends of the Margaretsville Lighthouse Society was formed in 2013 and signed a lease for the lighthouse in 2018.
