About Limhamn Övre Lighthouse
Limhamn Övre was a 15-meter metal skeletal tower with a focal height of 12 meters. It carried a triangular orange daymark, point down. The structure offered a geographic range of 5 nautical miles. Located on the waterfront of Limhamn, a harbor 0.8 km south of Malmö in Skåne County, Sweden, it was active until 2017 and removed by 2020. The site is open to the public, but the tower is not.
Why it matters: The light served as a navigation aid marking the entrance to Limhamn's harbor. Its bright orange daymark provided a clear daytime reference for vessels.
