About Blå Jungfrun Västra Lighthouse
This lighthouse is a white, cylindrical tower with a lantern and gallery, standing 6 meters tall. It was constructed in 1953 and initially lacked any distinguishing color bands. In 2008, the lighthouse was reactivated and a red band was added to the base of its white tower. The structure is situated on the west side of Blå Jungfrun island, an island located in the northern Kalmarsund. This island lies approximately 18 kilometers east of Oskarshamn and 10 kilometers west of Öland's northwest coast. The lighthouse has been inactive since 2015 and was absent from light lists by 2016.
