Krokholmen Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Krokholmen Lighthouse
Also known as: #Krokholmen
This Norwegian lighthouse is located on a skerry roughly 1 km west of Villa. Originally, a 6-meter lantern on piles served as the light. This was later replaced by a 15-meter hexagonal cylindrical granite tower, which also featured an observation room and was painted white with a red roof. Although this substantial tower has since been removed, an active green light now operates from a post. The site is open to the public, but the tower remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks a skerry west of Villa, which poses a hazard to navigation.
