Klokkerholmen Lighthouse

Klokkerholmen lighthouse stands on a promontory on the west coast of Ringvassøya, an island in Norway's Troms region. The current 7-meter fiberglass tower, painted white with three black horizontal bands, replaced a previous 6-meter square wooden tower. Its light emits white, red, or green signals, changing color based on the viewing angle, with a cycle of 6 seconds. The focal height of the light is 10.5 meters, providing a geographic range of 10.5 nautical miles. The site is accessible to the public, but the tower itself is closed.

Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for local fishing boats and coastal traffic navigating the complex waterways around Ringvassøya, especially during periods of reduced visibility. Its directional light assists vessels in safely rounding the promontory and avoiding the island's rocky western shore.
