It is situated on the tip of a rocky peninsula on the eastern side of the upper Trondheimsfjord, approximately 4 kilometers south of Straumen. The light emits two white, red, or green flashes every 8 seconds. Its focal height reaches 13.5 meters, providing a geographic range of 11.5 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
