About Gallia Bay Upper Range Rear Lighthouse
Established in 1907, the Gallia Bay Upper Range Rear lighthouse is a round, cylindrical steel tower rising 16 meters from a square concrete pier. It was constructed of concrete and steel. Originally paired with a front light, it formed a navigational range near Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel on the south side of Île Lapierre. The light has been inactive since the 1960s. The structure is now deteriorating and considered endangered, though the site remains open to visitors while the tower is closed.
